Old Friends ~ New Fun

So it's been a long time coming but I've been wanting to get into essential oils, make overnight oats, & find a substitute for my soda obsession & lack of water consumption! Well, I recently attended the Valley Home Educators Homeschool Convention and found two out of three to help me with my desire.

First, essential oils. Eden Essentials is my go to. Tiffany Hector is very sweet and she knows what she's talking about! They are even creating a homeschool curriculum based on leaning what the oils are good for and how to use them. http://www.edensessence.net

Next, thanx to my friend, who also home schools and loves overnight oats, I have a set of pumpkin pie overnight oats in the fridge as we speak. We kind of did a mix between two websites we love! http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/09/skinny-pumpkin-overnight-oats-in-jar.html & http://www.willcookforfriends.com/2012/11/pumpkin-pie-oatmeal-3-ways.html
**The recipe: 1/4 cup quick oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 tbsp pumpkin purée, 1 tsp chia seeds, 2 shakes of pumpkin pie spice, 1 1/2 packets stevia, & 1/2 slice of banana.

Next came my water drinking issue. During my chat with Tiffany from Eden Essence, she handed me a strawberry and lemon infused water. It was so good! So I came home and researched it. http://www.theyummylife.com/Flavored_Water & http://www.stockpilingmoms.com/2014/01/homemade-flavored-water-roundup I again tweaked them to my own advantage. In one jar I placed 2 cups or 16 oz of frozen blueberries, half a lemon & half a lime. Then I filled the jar with ice & water. The second jar had 2 cups or 16 oz package of frozen mixed berries, fill with ice,& I add a 14 oz jar of Zico Coconut Water (I chose this because it had the least amount of sugar). Then filled the rest with water. The third jar had 2 cups or 16 oz frozen strawberries, half a lemon & half a lime, ice and water. If I had my essential oils I could have added some essence of grapefruit. Check out why coconut water and grapefruit is so good for you!

Last but most certainly not least is s'more cookies! Thank you six sisters! I found this recipe and I made it my own. http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2013/08/smores-hersheys-kiss-cookies-recipe.html My other life saver is Trader Joes Snickerdoodles. http://www.amazon.com/Trader-Joes-Soft-baked-Snickerdoodles-Ingredients/dp/B00679KULC I took these cookies which are free of multiple allergies including the most important which is gluten (In our family). Then I used flat marshmallows http://www.amazon.com/Puffed-Stacker-Mallows-8-Ounce-Pack/dp/B004R8MZMC/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1406433367&sr=1-1&keywords=flat+marshmallows and then placed it in the broiler till it browns. Then I place a Hershey's kiss on top and fed them to the kids. The result was: "Can we have more?!" Which of course is music to my ears!

That was a task filled day! Now if I could only have the desire and energy to toss things in the dumpster that my husband rented.
